It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closure of Torbay Holiday Helpers Network. After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to cease operations.

Sadly, since the COVID-19 pandemic, securing the necessary funds to continue offering THHN holidays has become increasingly difficult.

While this is a tough decision, we take immense pride in the fact that the charity has helped over 950 families create precious memories through free, fun filled holidays in the beautiful Torbay area.

We are deeply grateful to the many individuals, groups, attractions, and organizations that have supported THHN over the past 16 years. Your generosity has enabled us to provide holidays for families facing unimaginable hardships, whether coping with a child’s life limiting or life shortening illness or a young family experiencing the loss of a parent or child.

As a committee, we were determined to find a charity to gift our fully adapted Sunset Lodge at Devon Hills Holiday Park, and we are delighted to announce that Exeter based charity Dream-A-Way has accepted this gift. Along with the lodge, they will also receive the remaining funds in the THHN bank account and will continue to offer families holidays in the lodge.

Additionally, the THHN beach wheelchair will remain available free of charge, thanks to our friends at Reach Outdoors, Goodrington, who have previously managed its use and storage on our behalf.

THHN will be closed in accordance with Charity Commission regulations, and the final accounts will be available for scrutiny once the handover is complete.

There are too many people, businesses, and organizations to thank individually. However, to everyone who has supported THHN from the bottom of our hearts, thank you. Your kindness and generosity have made a profound difference in the lives of the families who experienced a THHN holiday.
