Hi Luke, Please see below a diary of our THHN holiday that Warren kept during our stay at the wonderful Glenross Hotel in Torquay:

Monday

Today we went to Cockington Village where we enjoyed the horse and carriage ride to the top of the village and were left to wonder back down at our leisure to the centre of the village. Here were presented with a wonderful personalised glass blown paper weight from the glass blowers and other gifts from the Blacksmith, leather shop and soap shop. We went in to the cafe only to receive a delicious free Devonshire cream tea!!!!

Today was great and I thoroughlly enjoyed the horse and carriage ride.

Tuesday

This morning we were due to meet the THHN’s photographer Dougie Worthington to have some scenic photographs taken down around the beach. But until it came to us meeting Dougie we were in doubt about our morning as the cloudy skys were not looking so great but thankfully it did not rain until we had finished having our pictures taken. The time we spent with Dougie was so brilliant and we have some really great photo’s from it.

Afterwards we spent the rest of the dayin Torquay dodging the downpours of rain but still enjoyed ourselves browsing around and taking frequent tea stops.

Wednesday

Todat we went in to Paignton and travelled there by bus using our free Stagecoach Explorer vouchers which gave free unlimited bus travel anywhere in Devon. Once there we caught a second bus to take us to Caseys Diner an American set food diner and whilst there we had a £40 food voucher to spend on our dinner! Boy were they BIG dinners!!! We both had a steak meal and wow we could have shared just one between us!! Afterwards I tackled dessert and went for an ice cream sundae and it was civered with mint choc shavings and had two flakes stuck in either side!!!

Yummy in my tummy!!

Thursday

Today I woke up and it was wet outside! I was not feeling too well, bit of a headache and weak legs! However we went down for our breakfast and then ventured out in to town and browsed around the shops at our leisure and took it easy on our last day!

Tonight we should have been going to the famous’Hanburys Fish & Chip Restaurant’ in Babbacombe and then on to Babbacombe Theatre to see ‘The Laughter Party’ show but we took the hard decision not to go because after town this afternoon I was still feeling not so well and a bit weak!

Instead we caught the bus in to town again this evening and just went down to the Harvester on the Harbour for our dinner and a couple of drinks and the weather turned out lovely for our last night. It was a lovely end to our lovely weeks holiday!

Friday

It was our last day today but we got up as normal, all packed and sad to be leaving, but we were looking forward (as every morning) to our fifth and final fried breakfast!!! The breakfast cooked by owners Andrew & Janet was a super smashing one and everyday it set you up just right especially for today our juorney home – SPOT ON BREAKKY!!!

Our journey home was tiring but we made it home after a super, smashing, brilliant weeks holiday!!!

Thank you to all involved with the THHN for a real super appreciated, smashing great holiday to the Glenross Hotel in Torquay for a super welcoming stay where Andrew & Janet looked after us so well!!!

THANK YOU xxx
